Leo Epe
Leo is working as a cook, purchaser and maintenance in Garden Café for more than 29 years. His training came from friends and relatives, also through trainings and seminar workshops. He married his deaf sweetheart and former classmate Trinidad Quieta, and they have a son. He was able to support his family with what he earns in Garden Café and he supported his son with his income until he finishes a course in BSHRM. Aside from that, he was also able to meet his family’s daily needs. What his wife earns from dressmaking also helps them but his salary is their main source of income. With that he is so grateful, that’s why he’s motivated to work patiently.
Loreta Gablines-Pagar
Loreta started working in Garden Café since 1985 so it means she’s in Garden Cafe for already 29 years. She started as a waitress but later on, Mr. Dennis Drake transferred her to work at the kitchen. Mr. Drake and Nida taught her how to bake cake. Loreta then got married to her former classmate and deaf sweetheart Ciriaco Gablines who works at IDEA construction and they have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. When her husband died of Cancer, she married Allan Pagar also a deaf and a construction worker and they have a son aged 4 years who will soon start Kindergarten in June.
Both her 1st husband when he was still alive and her 2nd husband are working in IDEA construction. Their income put together supports their family’s daily needs like food, fares, the schooling of their children and even for emergency expenses. Her job in Garden Café is a great help to her family. At present she still bake cakes and pizza but she also works and manage the burger shop. She makes burger and shakes and when somebody’s on day off she handles some of their duties. Her family motivated her to work so that her children can continue in their studies and they can buy their food too.
